A tradesman in Paris in 1643, Trudon began as a greengrocer as well as a wax merchant. His son carried on the family business and became the royal wax manufacturer in 1719. Maison Trudon thus prospered as a traditional and prestigious candle maker, producing for such names as Hermes, Guerlain and Dior. Cire Trudon is now the oldest French manufacturer and produces candles of the best quality according to time-honoured tradition.
