WORDS BY AMELIA BELL

It’s February, and unsurprisingly, the cold, dark nights are leading us away from the gym and protein-packed lunch pots, and back to our old friends carbohydrates and sofa. So, how to get back on track? New workout clothes of course! And who better than the pros to show us how best to wear them, and teach us a thing or two about fitness in the process. Meet the bloggers whose hobbies are as eclectic as their sense of style. It’s just the motivation…

Joanne Encarnacion

‘How to avoid hitting the snooze button pre-gym session every morning? Find a friend who won’t let you off the hook. I’ve recently started weight training, and it’s great to have someone there to keep your spirits up. I typically wear compression tights, a medium support sports bra, and a workout tank. Oh and adidas, always.’

Krystal Bick

‘Currently, I'm training for the New York Marathon; it takes patience but if you work up to it and improve your mileage, you’ll see it's a gradual build up, not a sprint. My motivation? New fitness clothes, courtesy of adidas by Stella McCartney - activewear with a stylish spin. Finally, turn up your workout track list - AC/DC’s Thunderstruck always gives me a spring in my step!’

Lily Montasser

‘I find wearing a pop of colour really boosts my confidence when working out. No Ka Oi are top of the game with their vibrant colour-block designs and graphic prints. I used to be a ballerina, but these days I do a lot of yoga and pilates; the combination of stretch and strength is great for both form and mind.’

Molly Hogan

‘My top tip is to keep things fun! I dread going to the gym, so I try to get outside – even if it’s just walking my dog. Whether it’s paddle boarding, hiking or doing circuits, I ensure each workout is unique and exhilarating. There are so many kickass fashion brands doing sportswear, like adidas by Stella McCartney and Fenty by Puma, perfect for both activewear and daywear.’

Rayne Embley

‘I love to change up my outfits and incorporate activewear into my everyday uniform, [which is] usually ripped jeans and a leather jacket. The power pieces? P.E Nation outerwear does the trick every time. At the moment I can’t get enough of boxing as it forces you to stay focused, and engage in a spot of healthy competition!’

Jessica Sepel

‘I’m a huge fan of The Upside, the Hawaii-inspired label whose ethos is all about providing activewear informed by fashion, it’s the best yoga wear around. I find yoga really helps me to de-stress and recharge after a hectic day. My exercise advice is to listen to your body, go at your own pace and make sure you get plenty of rest.’
