WORDS BY JOSEPH FURNESS
Hot pink — everyone’s wearing it. Well, when we say ‘everyone’, we actually mean anyone who is anyone: Lewis Hamilton, Glenn Close, Sebastian Stan, Lizzo, Gillian Anderson, Drew Barrymore, Nicola Peltz Beckham and Zendaya included. Who’s responsible for the beau monde’s abrupt affinity for punchy pink attire? One man: Mr Pierpaolo Piccioli, the creative director of Valentino.
Back in March, Piccioli presented his fall/winter 2022 collection that, bar a handful of jet black looks, consisted entirely of hot pink pieces. By deciding to work almost exclusively with the ferocious hue, the designer was patently challenging himself to experiment with different cuts, silhouettes, adornments and materials. Not unexpectedly, Piccioli rose to the challenge and delivered a spectacular line-up of sure-fire ensembles — extroverted visions that both IRL attendees and virtual spectators would instantly covet.
Slowly but surely — and, surprisingly, very quietly — the Italian luxury fashion house has been dropping hot pink pieces online over the last few weeks, from unabashed mini dresses to sultry silk shirts and bold bucket hats. Here are our favorite Valentino pink garbs and accessories ready and waiting for you at FARFETCH.
Women's Valentino Pink Pieces
This flirtatious, cotton-silk blend Valentino mini dress is ideal for days when you’re feeling unapologetically feminine. Just look at those cute yet commanding bows.
Searching for a relaxed way to embrace the Valentino pink movement? Look no further than this uber-romantic, lace-detailed tee. Dreamy, right?
This hot pink silk blazer is sartorially foolproof. Throw it on to instantly smarten up (and brighten up) any smart casual or business casual look.
Riffing of the classic bomber jacket, this silk number is characterized by its cropped cut, oversized sleeves and, of course, hot pink hue. And, is it just us, or does this piece give off a touch of Regencycore vibes.
Men’s Valentino Pink Pieces
Want to dive into the deep end of the hot pink trend? Look no further than this formidable long-sleeve silk shirt that’s sure to get heads turning.
This frill-free, hot pink Valentino logo print T-shirt — branded with the label’s name on the rear — feels just as good as it looks. It’s made from 100% cotton to the back, contrasted against a silk-blend fabric at the front, in case you’re wondering.
If vibrant hues aren’t typically part of your aesthetic, you might be more comfortable championing Pierpaolo Piccioli’s fall/winter 2022 collection by sporting this hot pink VLogo bucket hat. An understated nod to the trend, it offers a look that’s somewhat more subtle than those debuted on the runway.
Although this floral print shirt is actually from the label’s spring/summer 2022 collection, it’s a great entry point for those looking to incorporate some Valentino pink into their wardrobe.
