The Nike Air Max 1 “Chinatown” takes inspiration from New York City's Chinatown neighbourhood. This colourful sneaker features several alterations: including a pale red mesh base with black suede overlays and red patent leather detailing, thick red contrast stitching outlining the translucent plastic Swooshes and a mini Swoosh at the toe add unique touches. Nike places Chinese characters on the tongue and a winged horse in place of traditional Nike Air branding on the heel. Two-tone red and black laces and a multicoloured rubber outsole add the final special details to the design.
