Sound the sportswear collab klaxon - there’s a new capsule dropping!
WORDS BY RYAN THOMPSON
It’s a match made in streetwear heaven: young Italian designer Danilo Paura and the iconic, Turin-founded sportswear brand Kappa. Their baby? An elevated SS18 capsule that riffs on the heritage of latter in a way only the former could have accomplished.
If the last time you wore that iconic Kappa logo was at a sweaty Oasis gig in the Nineties, it might be time to rekindle the love affair: the Paura and Kappa capsule is full of contemporary pieces, from denim jackets to bold graphic prints via a healthy dose of brightly coloured leather outerwear. But it’s the tailored trousers featuring the Kappa logo strip – subversively placed down the inside leg – that we’re really fawning over. Not a look for all offices maybe, but more than modern enough to take the ‘smart-casual’ code to a place it hasn’t been before.
Word also has it that this Kappa and Paura collaboration won’t be a one-off, which is music to our ears. For now, gorge yourself on that classic logo stripe. Mix it up with tailored pieces like a black denim jacket or layer up with a hoodie and a tailored coat. Head over to Farfetch’s immense sneaker collection to bookend the look with the latest kicks.
