x Doernbecher Dunk High DBXIX "Macey" sneakers
Nike's longstanding collaboration with the OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital provides six patients a year with 'the opportunity to create inspiring Nike footwear, apparel and equipment designs that are auctioned and sold to benefit the hospital as a signature fundraiser'. Imbued with personal significance, this iteration of the Nike Dunk High XIX sneakers is designed by Macey Bodily, a young brain cancer survivor. Crafted from smooth leather overlayed with hand-painted floral panels, they highlight Bodily's resilience with a 'She believed she could so she did' slogan at the midsole and a grey ribbon at the lateral heel to promote brain cancer awareness. The final touch is a chocolate chip cookie graphic at the tongue, with Bodily's signature recipe included on the inside.
