So many plans, so little time? Our buying and merchandising director has a few style tricks to share…
WORDS BY AMELIA BELL
With the full swing of festive season (and the countless parties, feasts and more in the diary) comes the inevitable style conundrum: what to wear and when to wear it. And let’s face it, the never-ending carousel of outfit swaps can seem just a little overwhelming. One lucky person who doesn’t suffer from such sartorial nerves is our buying and merchandising director, Candice Fragis. And so we enlisted her to give us a tip or 2 on festive dressing…
1. Colourful Knits
‘The key is in layering your knits – I love N.Peal’s range of colourful cashmere, and often layer up the men’s chunky knits with the super-fine pieces for women, which makes for an interesting contrast. Zoe Jordan’s pastel options work well, too, given the cut-out detail.’
Shop the look: Zoe Jordan Jumper, N.Peal Sweater, JW Anderson Jumper, Sansovino 6 Jumper
1. Festive Earrings
‘Then there’s the accessories, of course. Festive earrings from the likes of Lizzie Fortunato jewels and Rosantica are where to style big… such small additions [that] make some serious impact.’
Shop the look: Shourouk Disco Earrings, Lizzie Fortunato Jewels Earrings, Rosantica Earrings, Katerina Makriyianni
3. Luxury Loungewear
‘It’s all about comfort (and style, obviously) for those festive days spent at home. I’ll personally go for a uniform of Etro jacquard wrap jackets, Pringle dresses and, of course, a Fair-Isle jumper for a merry spin.’
Shop the look: Pringle Dress, Etro Jacket, Attico Pouch, Oscar Tiye Mules
4. Be Prepared
‘This year I’ll actually be in the jungle in Peru [over Christmas], so I’ll be needing lightweight cotton and a wide-brim hat, with some festive sunglasses. Back in London a long-sleeved floral dress by Preen will serve me well post-holiday and see me through to January. Style note: add rodeo boots for an unexpected twist.’
Shop the look: Preen dress, Saint Laurent Jumper, Thierry Lasry Sunglasses, Haider Ackermann Boots
