WORDS BY STEPHEN YU
Navigating the current denim landscape is hella hard. Remember those halcyon days when it was as easy as wearing skinny jeans? Or Japanese selvage? Not anymore...now everything is fair game. Fortunately for you, us style gods at Farfetch have taken pity on you, and are here to lend a helping hand. Here's how to do denim this season:
Multi-pocket
Functionality is in. JW Anderson did some research and discovered that nothing is more functional than pockets at the knee and shin. And square back pockets too. Rock these with turn-ups, and don't get caught trying to put your hands into the faux front pocket distressing.
Embroidered
Express your feminine side with jeans covered in beautiful wildlife like snakes, or flying insects or dragons. Nothing is more masculine then embracing femininity, take our word for it.
Stitching
These dark denims are covered in beautiful neon stitched zig-zags and squares. Almost looks like your little sister took your favorite pair of jeans and practiced her sewing machine skills on them. Cute.
Dyed
Oil-stain effect denims with contrasting pattern on the turn-ups. Good for pretending you're a real ‘hands-on’ guy who does his own car mechanics, or for sneakily wiping your greasy hands on.
Drop-crotch
Beautiful black denim with contrasting white stitching and a slight drop crotch fit. Let's give the fellas downstairs a little breathing space aye. ;)
Bootcut
Stop it. I know. Yes...you are reading this correct. Bootleg is back, and it's cool again. Just don't wear them with hideous boots, cool sneakers will do.
