There’s nothing more satisfying than effortless staples that go with everything else in your wardrobe. Enter There Was One— the latest brand from New Guards Group, exclusively available to shop on FARFETCH.
Why should you add There Was One to your repertoire? For a start, each piece has been carefully designed to be dependable, versatile and comfortable — the kind of pieces that look and feel appropriate for work meetings, WFH days spent on Google Meet, weekend trips out and even weddings. It’s also never been easier to pair conscious items together, as each piece from There Was One is purposely fashioned to coordinate with the rest. Plus, its collections have been developed using responsible methods and fabrics such as certified organic cotton, which has a lower ecological impact due to a system of farming that maintains and replenishes soil fertility without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers and genetically modified organisms. What’s more, using materials certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the label ensures that any wood used comes from responsibly managed forests.

There Was One: wardrobe essentials
There Was One operates on a ‘drop’ strategy: each collection stands alone, focusing on specific customer needs, with a ‘buy now, wear now’ approach. By choosing not to comply with fashion’s fast-paced calendar, There Was One offers the pieces that people want and need at exactly the right time.
This also gives the brand more freedom to focus on high-quality materials, each crafted in Italy using local factories. The result spotlights hard-working wardrobe staples that you’ll want to wear for years to come.
There Was One: conscious fabrics
One of the key reasons New Guards Group created There Was One is to provide ethically minded consumers with an entire line of responsible apparel that doesn’t compromise on infallible style. And, of course, the true meaning of sustainable fashion is longevity; all of There Was One’s pieces are designed to last and remain en vogue ad infinitum. All materials used in the collections are carefully selected and developed with Italian suppliers, and exclusively crafted for There Was One.
Here are all of the conscious fabrics used to produce the debut There Was One drop:

There Was One: packaging and labels
The brand’s responsible mission doesn’t stop there. Its team also works hard to source and produce the most sustainable packaging and labels possible.
There Was One’s zero plastic packaging consists of a certified compostable bag and an FSC mix-certified recycled box and paper. Additionally, each There Was One label is made of natural materials – one of which is a compostable swing tag containing seeds that grow into evergreen plants and herbs.
