Robert Dumas debuted the original Cadena lock in the 1930s as a secure fastening for the Sac À Depêches – later re-named the Kelly – and to this day it remains one of Hermès’ most recognisable design elements. This mini Kelly Cadena handbag takes its name and inspirations from the famed padlock with its structural rectangular shape, single curved top handle and stitched lines of piping that form the shape of a raised ‘H’ at the front and back.
