Fornasetti's Tema E Variazioni series is centred around a contemporary reinterpretation of Lina Cavalieri's face that decorates porcelain plates like this one. Designed for ornamental use, as a centrepiece or wall decoration, this black and white rendition depicts the opera singer's mouth holding a flower for a playful note.
