Fornasetti's Tema E Variazioni series focuses on a contemporary reinterpretation of Italian operatic soprano Lina Cavalieri's face that decorates porcelain homeware like this plate. This black and white rendition depicts a fly poised on the opera singer's nose for a playful note and is designed for ornamental use as a centrepiece or wall decoration.
