WORDS BY DAISY SCOTT
Sneakers have become a style statement within everyone's wardrobe — from the classic adidas Stan Smith and cult-worthy Balenciaga Defender to futuristic adidas YEEZY Foam Runner and collaborative Nike x Louis Vuitton Air Force 1’s. The pair that you choose can say a lot about your style.
Over the last decade, sneakers have made the transition from the gym to the runway — they can be seen (and worn) at almost any event. But what is it that makes a pair great? Are there key elements that make them undeniably iconic? And what exactly should we be keeping our eyes out for in the coming season?
We recently spoke with sneaker tastemakers Tareq Q and Mohamed Al Safar to understand their adoration for sneakers, learn about the emblems that make a pair special, and get the low down on the collaborations they can’t wait to wear. Discover everything they had to say below.
