American born designer Narciso Rodriquez had worked under the names of Anne Klein, Donna Karen and Calvin Klein before starting his own line in 1997. In 2005, he became the first American to win the Council of Fashion Designers of America Womenswear Designer of the Year. His clients list is extensive and celebrity fans include Salma Hayek, Claire Danes, Sarah Jessica Parker and Rachel Weisz.
