adidas Originals by Alexander Wang is back. Its second instalment (Season 2, Drop 2 if we’re being official) – an epic 36-piece collection – has just landed on Farfetch, and we want it all.
The selection seeks to blur the boundaries between streetwear and high fashion even further. So it’s unmistakably adidas, yes. But with high-performance classics from the athleticwear icon’s archives – like the holy sneaker and distinct windbreaker - given a style spin courtesy of sports-luxe prince Wang.
Inspired by New York City bike messengers, this unisex collaboration fuses 2 adrenaline-fuelled subcultures: cycling and raving. Expect cycling jerseys, T-shirts, leggings and windbreakers adorned with co-branded logos and nineties graphic prints. There’s also a clever reversible parka, a subversive spin on the classic football shirt and jacquard track pants with unexpected details.
Footwear your thing? You’ll find 2 colourways of both the adidas AW Run Mid and adidas AW Skate Mid here. Wang also updates the classic slides silhouette Adilette, which is dressed in textured rubber with a panelled tri-colour motif.
As for the colour palette – shock highlighter yellow - or ‘solar yellow’ if you prefer - is offset by neutral greys, black and white, plus the occasional pop of electric blue – a visual flip to the mahogany tones of Drop 1.
From its slew of collaborations with fashion’s elite - Stella McCartney, Raf Simons and Rick Owens included - adidas Originals has become the go-to for elevated athleisure. We can’t wait to see what’s next…
