FKA Twigs edits Black designers

At a time when shining a light on injustice has never been more vital, influential singer FKA twigs’ new song, Don’t Judge Me, provides a window into the experience of being Black and British today. Its video — featuring British rapper Headie One and directed by Emmanuel Adjei, previously behind the camera of Beyoncé’s Black Is King — is a powerful statement on cultural, systemic and structural biases. In support of the release of Don’t Judge Me, FKA twigs has created an edit of her favorite Black designers for FARFETCH, and shared her hopes for the future of the Black creative community.

FKA twigs on supporting the Black creative community

‘The attention being drawn to Black designers at the moment is great. I’d love it to be kept up — so many things are fleeting in fashion. Supporting Black talent needs to be something that is permanent and not a trend.’
