Tailoring is making a steady comeback into the lives of even the most streetwear-obsessed men. Here, three men – with very different approaches to style – share how they’re making the suit work for them. See their favourite tailored looks of the season here.
‘My inspirations have always come from movies and past fashion icons. I love to add mini accessories that scream me. So instead of a tie and dress shoes with a suit, I’d go for a bolo tie and cowboy boots to add my spin on it. I’m more comfortable that way. Also, how I get dressed up really depends on my mood. Sometimes, I get really into a particular style for a month and then move on to the next one. I’m all over the place; I’d like to think of it as a beautiful mess.’ In shot: Denny wears loafers by Gucci and watch by Zenith.
‘When it comes to tailoring, I like to think the rules should be disregarded a little bit. You can wear mules instead of lace shoes, or try a tee instead of a buttoned-up shirt. Just personalise it! But that’s maybe because I live in London and it’s anything goes – no rules. Your style, your way.’ In shot: Terence wears blazer by Gucci and trousers by Calvin Klein 205W39NYC.
‘Finding a space where contemporary and formal style can both coexist is important for me, especially as I enjoy a minimalist sense of style: clean and beautiful clothes that are easy to style with the right amount of polish. I think a bit of colour, structure, cohesiveness and sexiness in an understated manner goes a long way.’ In shot: Igee wears loafers by Givenchy and cufflinks by Fefè.
