Fendi, one of the world’s premier luxury labels, began life in 1918 as a fur and leather specialty shop in Rome, owned by Adele Casagrande and Edoardo Fendi. The family business hired emerging talent Karl Lagerfeld in 1965, then a little known stylist who had trained under Pierre Balmain and Jean Patou.
