Archive Chanel From Rewind Vintage Boutique
‘I’ve been collecting Chanel pieces since 2003,’ says Claudia Ricco, founder and CEO of rare vintage specialist store Rewind. The London boutique, which celebrates its 10th anniversary during this lockdown period, focuses its buy on five iconic French maisons. The boutique’s latest capsule showcases the once private collection of Catherine McNulty, a glamorous socialite who collected rare Chanel pieces. There's a particular focus on iconic archival Chanel pieces from the 1980s onwards, worn by Chanel muses such as Inès de la Fressange, Yasmin Le Bon and Claudia Schiffer. ‘When we first saw this particular collection it felt as though we had opened up an Aladdin's cave of the most fabulous pieces, with the most glamorous stories behind them,’ notes Claudia. Here, she shares her favorite pieces, all of which hold particular significance to Karl Lagerfeld’s design legacy. Shop these rare exclusives below.
‘My favorite pieces are the Scuba sequin jacket and the green tweed bag. The bag is incredibly rare and the two were paired with co-ordinates bought by two fashion museums as part of their permanent collection.’
‘The Scuba jacket was listed as part of the 100 best Karl Lagerfeld looks of all time. It's a runway piece and was worn by Claudia Schiffer in 1989.’
‘These pieces belonged to one of the loveliest and most stylish clients we’ve ever had. She led a very glamorous life and had exquisite taste. When she passed away, her collection was offered to us.’
‘The collector of these particular pieces was a very dear client of ours, and one of the first to get in touch with us when the market for second-hand clothing was in its infancy. She wanted to give her collection a second life.’
