WORDS BY JOSEPH FURNESS

Let’s cut to the chase, you’re here to find out the sizing and fit of the Yeezy 700. Therefore, I won’t bore you with our opinions of the hyped sneaker (we love the silhouette, thanks for asking) and instead, we’ll get straight into the nitty-gritty.
We’ve concluded — with the help from four illustrious sneaker experts from around the globe — that, on average, the Yeezy Boost 700 silhouette finds itself on our imaginary sneaker sizing scale somewhere between the true to size and the slightly too small mark. Typical Yeezy.

As you are still reading, we’re assuming that you’re still stuck on what size to cop. In that case, we advise you to stick around because we’re about to over-analyse the fit of the Yeezy 700 harder than your English teacher’s ludicrous dissection of ‘Of Mice and Men’.
If you’re either the owner of a pair of wide, Hobbit-shaped feet; live in Iceland and, consequently so, have to wear 50 pairs of thick socks; or simply prefer your crepes a little loose, opt for a ½ size up.
On the other hand, if you’re more than happy with a snug pair of sneaks, then true-to-size will do you just right. The consensus is that it’s a super comfortable shoe anyway, a fact that comes as no surprise when you consider that colossal Boost sole.
But before you go rushing your cursor to our search bar, conveniently located at the top right of this article (yes, we have the 700s in stock), each iteration of the sneaker does have a slightly different fit. Why? Because Yeezy is a perfectionist.
Here to talk us through some of those differences is our brand-new, forced-together-like-this-is-the-X-factor, sneakerhead superband, consisting of Monsieur Banana, Matt Ridout, Roszko and Sean Go.

"The ‘Dad Shoe’ trend is still going strong and with every brand coming out with their own version of a chunky sneaker, the Yeezy 700 is definitely my top pick.
The Yeezy 700 is, without a doubt, one of the comfiest sneakers and this is attributed to the full-length boost sole which can also be found in other Yeezy models like the Yeezy Boost 750 and the ever so popular Yeezy 350s. However, in comparison to the Yeezy Boost 350 V2, the Yeezy Boost 700 feels much more rigid on-foot and lacks flexibility but, saying that, it does get more comfortable once it’s been worn in.
Sizing is subjective as everyone likes their shoes to fit differently but in my opinion, I find that the all the Yeezy 700 iterations fit just a little small. Therefore, I would recommend going half a size up. The reason for this is that the toe box area is both short and shallow and having tried this sneaker in my true to size shoe size, I find my toes hitting the front of the sneaker. Nevertheless, it does loosen a little with wear so do not stress if you find that your Yeezy 700s feel a bit snug fresh out of the box.
The newest addition to the Yeezy sneaker family is the Yeezy 700 V2 Static which has the same chunky midsole as the previous 700 with an updated upper composed of mesh, nubuck, leather and reflective 3M accents. Due to the different construction of the upper, the Yeezy 700 V2 doesn’t require the padded lining which can be found in the original 700s and this means that it does not fit as snug. Howbeit, it’s important to note that the difference is minimal so I would still recommend sizing up half a size."

"Light and flexible, the Yeezy 700 features full-length boost technology and has a thick rubber midsole. The 700 Wave Runner fits snug because of the narrow toe box so I definitely recommend going half a size up.
The second iteration of the sneaker, the Yeezy 700 Mauve, comes with the extra padding and added elastic that holds the tongue in place. Therefore, for this sneaker, I’d recommend going a half size up.
For me, the Yeezy 700 v2 Static — the latest Yeezy 700 v2 — is definitely the most comfortable. They’ve removed most of the padding and constructed the upper with primeknit, allowing for extra room at the toe box. It also features an ortholite insole and a cloth underlining so now you are directly walking on the boost. For this iteration of the shoe, I recommend sticking with your true-to-size fit."

"People always ask me if the Yeezy Boost 700s are as comfortable as the Yeezy Boost 350s, that’s like asking me if a pizza is better with or without stuffed crust... It all comes down to your mood!
The 700s are a snugger fit on-foot and that’s down to the generous padding inside the sneaker. I have quite wide feet so this is something I’ve noticed with each 700 release.
In terms of the differences between the fit of each colourway: in my opinion, there’s no difference between the OG Wave Runner and the Mauve. However, there is certainly a slight change with the Yeezy 700 v2 Static. The new upper design (now made with primeknit) changes the feel of the shoe and makes it slightly roomier."

"The Yeezy 700 provides a great balance between the pillowy softness of Boost, along with enough rigidity and support to be worn all day without any foot fatigue. Straight out of the box they require some break-in time but with added wear, the Yeezy 700 becomes more and more comfortable each day. "
"The V1 models fit slightly snug due to a shallow toe box, so I would recommend buying a half size bigger from your true size, especially for wider feet. The 700 V2 fits more true to size, so going with your normal sneaker size should be fine."
