Let’s be honest: in recent years, streetwear and fashion have become inextricable. Which means that the best street-inflected collections have also become ever-more sophisticated. Here, four women – a Brooklyn-based stylist, an entrepreneur in Kuwait and two Seoul-based content creators – show us how they’re wearing it now. Shop their edits below.
‘My style is eclectic – but it’s purely based on how much time I have to get ready in the morning. I’ll probably regret saying this in a year’s time, but I’m obsessed with Buffalo’s platform sneakers at the moment. And in terms of who I'm following on Instagram, I love Rosalia’s style right now (@rosalia.vt). She wears a lot of streetwear and makes it feel elevated and glamorous.’ Photography by @walidfatam. ‘People’s style varies so much here in Seoul. It’s more creative in Hongdae, whereas it tends to be more formal in Gangnam. It’s challenging to define the way we dress, because it always changes. Some days we prefer feminine pieces, while on others we feel quite androgynous – it totally depends on how we want to portray ourselves that day. We’re into streetwear brands a lot, and love playing with different silhouettes and mixing colours and prints. Hunting for unique statement pieces is one of our favourite things to do.’ In shot: Qjin and Qwon wear T-shirt by Ten Pieces, trousers by Anine Bing, shirt dress by Burberry and sneakers by Buffalo.
‘I get a lot of inspiration from the Nineties: I follow a lot of vintage Instagram accounts that post Eighties and Nineties-era references. Overall I would say the way I dress is very relaxed and comfortable. I couldn’t live without my white [Nike Air] Forces – they’re always my go-to – as well as a good long-sleeve turtleneck and my leather jacket from 1017 ALYX 9SM. I wanna say I wear the jacket at least three times a week.’ In shot: Sashà wears shorts by 3X1 and bag by Marques'Almeida.
