For International Women’s Day, we asked three men, from three walks of life, to talk about the women that inspire them.
‘I’ve been blessed to have women in my life that support me through friendship and have uplifted me in innumerable other ways, to make me the person I am today. We should celebrate the accomplishments and stories of all women. I support businesses, owned by black women, and local female artists, in any way that I can.’
‘Women have changed my life. My mother: she’s so much stronger than me, my dad and all of my brothers. From her, I learned a lot about how to respect women, how to observe and listen, and be mentally strong.’
‘My mom and sister are my inspiration and support system. But support is a two-way street: when someone supports you, you need to support them as well. So I think it’s really important to appreciate the women in your life, whoever they are.’
