The women’s designer sneakers everyone’s buying, according to our data

WORDS BY OLIVIA WOODHOUSE

One of life’s constants is sneakers — and women’s designer sneakers, in particular, remain the cornerstone of a modern wardrobe. But with such a wealth of designer sneakers to choose from, which do you opt for? To help you decide, we’ve dived deep into our customer data to show you which women’s sneakers are trending right now and which are all-time bestsellers.

Insights are based on FARFETCH customer sales and engagement data. Each list is curated in order of GTV (gross transactional sales), starting with the highest GTV product.

Current best-selling women’s designer sneakers

The trending sneakers in everyone’s baskets right now, from the likes of Miu Miu, Golden Goose, Prada and more.

1. Miu Miu Gymnasium leather sneakers

Our data shows that sales for these Miu Miu Gymnasium sneakers are booming and, more generally, Miu Miu sneakers have seen a 163% increase in sales compared to SS25. Yes, you heard us right. If you love a trending piece, this is it. Buttery caramel-colored suede and shearling lining mirror the boho-Americana trends we saw in FW25. Plus, its slim-sole style speaks to the streamlined silhouettes we’re seeing everywhere right now.

2. Golden Goose True-Star sneakers

Customers are clearly keen to get their hands on these exclusive Golden Goose True-Star sneakers. The shoe features a set of ribbon laces adorned with artisanal beads and a vintage-inspired pin you won’t see anywhere else. As you’ll see further down, Golden Goose sneakers have cracked the code, simultaneously being trendsetters while defying trends.

3. Miu Miu Plume leather sneakers

Miu Miu is leading the way for slim-sole trainers with another customer favorite: the Miu Miu Plume leather sneaker. Previously its satin counterpart was center stage but now the limelight is firmly on this lightweight leather design. It’s the ultimate day-to-night sneaker, offering 70s vintage style combined with Miu Miu’s signature preppy aesthetic.

4. Prada crochet lace-up sneakers

As we move into warmer months, crochet resurfaces — and this time in sneaker form. Online merchandiser, Judit Kovacs, notes, ‘Crochet was a trend last summer but not necessarily for shoes. This seems to be a new trend for SS26.’ Customers can’t get enough of these Prada crochet sneakers which exude a summery aesthetic — think vacations, beach trips and pool days. Prada sneakers have seen a massive 137% growth since SS25, testament to their impeccable selection.

5. ISABEL MARANT Beth suede sneakers

Creamy suede and touch fastenings — could these ISABEL MARANT Beth sneakers be any more perfect? If functional style is your go-to, this pair should be top of your list. Pair with contrasting textures like denim and leather for a modern take on Americana style. ISABEL MARANT sneakers have seen an increase of 139% in popularity since this time last year. The Parisian brand’s sophisticated approach is clearly working for FARFETCH customers.

What our data reveals about trending women’s sneakers

We asked online merchandiser Judit Kovacs for her expert analysis: here’s what she had to say.

- Caramel suede is having a moment: ‘Several of trending sneakers this year are crafted in light brown suede — a caramel-like hue that’s clearly capturing attention.’

- Low is the way to go: ‘Low-top silhouettes are making a strong comeback.’

- Expect to see more soft textures: ‘Even sneakers that didn’t make it onto the top 5 are leaning into this trend, showing that soft, luxe textures are dominating the sneaker conversation right now.’

Best-selling women’s designer sneakers of all time

The mainstays of our customers’ sneaker rotation — expect clean lines and chunkier silhouettes all around.

1. Alexander McQueen Oversized sneakers

Debuting in 2015, the Alexander McQueen Oversized sneaker elevated the luxury sneaker space. If you’re a designer sneaker fanatic, you’ll know all about this game-changing shoe, or better yet, you’ll be in possession of a pair. Our data shows this is our most popular sneaker of all time, but the shoe really came into its own around FW20 and SS21.

2. Maison Margiela Replica sneakers

More recently associated with radical shoe design, Maison Margiela’s all-time bestseller is perhaps one its least radical shoes, the Replica sneaker. A riff on the classic German Army Trainer design, this sneaker has a timeless appeal. Our customers loved this sneaker most between FW21 and SS22.

3. Golden Goose Super-Star sneakers

Super-Star by name, Super-Star by nature. The first of Golden Goose’s sneakers to gain the star emblem, they’ve since proven to be a stalwart of our customers' baskets, peaking in popularity in SS25. It seems Golden Goose truly transcends trends — one to consider for the indecisive investment hunter.

4. Balenciaga Track low-top sneakers

Slim soles might be having a moment but that could never dim the light of chunky trendsetter, the Balenciaga Track sneaker. Its layered style contained within a structured cage caught the eye of fashion enthusiasts back in 2018 and, seven years later, the shoe shows no signs of stopping. Customers showed this pair the most love in SS21.

5. adidas Samba OG sneakers

The adidas Samba has taken the world by storm in recent years, so we’re not surprised the shoe has made it onto our all-time bestsellers list. Its pared-back design and instantly recognizable stripes made it a versatile shoe with the ability to pair with just about anything. Our records show that this adidas staple peaked in popularity at around SS24.

What our best-selling women’s sneakers reveal about long-term trends

Judit gave us the highlights on what the data shows across our bestsellers.

- Neutrals stand the test of time: ‘Across the best-selling sneakers of all time, black and white remain dominant.’

- Silhouettes used to be bigger: ‘Historically, the chunkier the silhouette, the better — with bold shapes doing most of the brand storytelling and patterns kept minimal.’

- Sneakers are brighter now: ‘Logos, when present, were restrained. Over the past one to two years, however, we’re seeing a shift toward more expression through animal prints, suede fabrication, and elevated details like sequins, adding personality without losing the core appeal.’
