Yohji Yamamoto Vintage
Amazing culotte jumpsuit from the 1980s, designed by the one and only Yohji Yamamoto. Th trousers are wide and boxy and cropped at the ankle. The body of the suit is made from draped velvet that crosses over the front and is attached by buttons to the waist of the trousers. The back is completely open which creates a surprising contrast against the androgynous tailoring of the jumpsuit. Please note that vintage items are not new and therefore might have minor imperfections.

One of the greats of Japanese fashion design, Yohji Yamamoto presented his first eponymous collection in Tokyo in 1977 before debuting at the Paris ready-to-wear shows in 1981. A menswear collection followed in 1984. The Yohji Yamamoto look is avant-garde and somehow removed from seasonal trends. He often employs oversized garments within his designs, with black usually the staple shade. Yohji’s understanding of fabric and how it drapes on the body give his collections a unique quality.
