1956 strapless midi dress
The Dior maison may be famous for exquisite cuts and pioneering silhouettes, but it is also home to refinement and unending tradition. Crafted in 1965, this strapless ball dress displays the typical 50's silhouette of a fitted waist and a glamorously full skirt. The strapless design was fashioned from pure black cotton, featuring a front button fastening, an asymmetric mid-length, bow details on both sides of the back and pleated detailing around the waist. Please note that vintage items are not new and therefore might have minor imperfections.

Christian Dior founded his Parisian namesake brand in 1946. The house of Dior is famous for its haute couture designs and for creating the ‘New Look’ that would influence the style of the fifties, and has become a leading luxury brand with a reputation for innovative style. In 1950 Jacques Rouët devised a licensing program to place the now-renowned name of "Christian Dior" visibly on a variety of luxury goods. It was placed first on neckties and soon was placed on hosiery, furs, hats, gloves, handbags, jewellery, lingerie, and scarves.
