The release date of this red-hot sneaker collaboration is upon us
WORDS BY RYAN THOMPSON
Every self-respecting sneakerheads will remember that back in June, during Paris Fashion Week, Nike and Comme des Garçons Homme revealed an acid trip of a collaboration involving the Air Max 180. Well, the time has come for this most eagerly anticipated of drops. You can expect three colourways, all of them sharing a predilection for ‘laser pink’ (the other colour accents will be red, black and pink - presumably of the non-laser variety).
Sneaker legend Tinker Hatfield worked alongside Bruce Kilgore, the designer of the Air Force 1, on the original Air Max 180 - so-called because the air bubble is visible in 180 degrees. It was the first Air Max model to adopt a sleeker silhouette and apparently the first model that Kanye West collaborated on, although word has it that only a few incredibly rare samples of this still exist.
This latest iteration of the 180 with CdG will be a big deal so look out for a drop date around February 1st. Keep checking back to Farfetch’s huge sneaker collection because these 180s will not hang around. But we didn’t need to tell you that...
In the meantime, why not get yourself in the mood with the rest of the Comme des Garçons collection...
