2011 2.55 Reissue shoulder bag

Re-introduced in 2005 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original, CHANEL’s 2.55 Reissue maintains the same revolutionary design elements introduced by the eponymous founder in 1955 – most notably the practical and liberating namesake shoulder strap. The prototype simultaneously manifested the label’s archetypal diamond quilting while the original Mademoiselle lock paid homage to the designer’s title, which came with the fact she chose to never marry. This navy-blue iteration boasts all the heritage details along with an equally iconic double flap construction. The additional layer is carried over from Karl Lagerfeld’s progeny Classic Flap style and sits below the larger exterior one (whose interior zip pocket is rumoured to have been used by Coco Chanel to hide love letters) to separate and protect the main compartment.
