It’s a new season and a new mood for Temperley London - for AW17 the English favourite is presenting a more progressive take on its classically pretty outlook. And in San Francisco, 5 fashion bloggers falling hard for the label’s new edge-infused perspective are only too happy to give us the lowdown on why Temperley London’s collection is making its way into their working wardrobes this fall...

Ashley Kane

Founder of lifestyle blog Brunch on Chestnut, Ashley Kane knows a thing or two about infusing West Coast ease with cool eclectic updates.

Describe your style in 3 words.
‘Classic, eclectic, comfortable.’

What do you love about Temperley London?
‘The charm. Temperley London is very distinct; rich with detail, whimsical, and feminine.’

‘I don't think I've [ever] owned a more stunning dress – the beaded sparrows shimmering throughout are the most magical touch. I teamed it with a pair of white heels (a favorite accessory for fall), a denim jacket, and a transitional bag.’

Is San Francisco style a reflection of the city’s vibe?
‘Absolutely. The city is so diverse, and so is the style. San Franciscans are well stocked in sweaters, jackets, and comfortable shoes. We do fall pretty well!’

Anh Sundstrom

Anh, founder of 9to5Chic, is finding Temperley London’s latest pieces perfect for her penchant for elevated everyday styling.

Describe your style in 3 words.
‘Classic, feminine, polished.’

What do you love about Temperley London?
‘My very first Temperley London piece (a blouse) from years ago is the perfect example of why I love the brand: it's feminine and luxurious with an unexpected twist.’

‘I fell in love with this Foxglove print, and the length of this dress. It feels like something I could keep in my closet forever. I’ve paired it with sling-back flats and a little box bag.’

What's the one wardrobe staple you can't live without?
‘A beautiful trench coat. It's the one item that I can literally wear anywhere and feel confident in how I'm presenting myself. Definitely worth the investment.’

Carlina Harris

San-Fran native Carlina Harris’s playful style coincides with the label’s AW17 details. And right now The Allergic to Vanilla blogger is all about structured blazers and gold accents.

Describe your style in 3 words.
‘Always-evolving, chic, prints.’

‘I’m wearing the Sparrow dress in a muted frost shade - it’s a look on its own so I’ve kept the focus on the dress. I’ve really injected my "Allergic to Vanilla" personality into the look with my shoes, pairing this romantic dress with a pair of metallic-gold stiletto boots and tonal hoops to play with the gold theme.’

How will you work these pieces into your everyday wardrobe?
‘I'm obsessed with all the ruffles so I definitely need more! I'd say pairing the romantic pieces with more structured modern items makes for the perfect current look.’

What’s the one wardrobe staple you can’t live without?
‘Blazers- they polish any look even when I'm not looking for it, but who doesn't need polish in their life?’

Tiffany Wang

Tiffany’s low-key look makes for a more unusual take on Temperley London, and she knows just how to strike the perfect hard-soft balance - it’s all about the shoes.

Describe your style in 3 words.
‘Minimalist, low-fuss, monochrome.’

What do you love about Temperley London?
‘The level of craft and detail that goes into every piece. I typically favor more relaxed and androgynous looks, but there’s a playful femininity about [the] clothes that I just can’t resist.’

How will you work the collection into your everyday wardrobe?
‘The label consistently has beautiful pieces that can transition from day to evening, and work for the office or fancier occasions. Whenever I need a break from all-black outfits, [and want] something more girly, Temperley London always comes to mind. And a change of shoes makes all the difference. I can wear the same midi skirt with a pair of sneakers, then jazz it up at night with some velvet booties.’

Your favourite thing to do in San Francisco?
‘I love exploring new coffee shops, restaurants and bars; checking out the latest exhibits at our many museums (MOMA, Exploratorium, de Young – you get the picture); perusing the awesome vintage stores in the Mission and Haight; and going to the Ferry Building farmer’s market every Saturday morning. I love the fact that you’ll never run out of things to do here.’

Cheryl Van Den Berg

Autumnal tones, metallic accents, neutral counterparts: Oh to Be a Muse’s Cheryl Van Den Berg pares back the label’s whimsical charm with understated styling.

Describe your style in 3 words.
‘Casual, chic, feminine.’

Tell us about your look today.
‘I was immediately drawn to the high neck and mid length of the silk and metallic Rider dress. The claret and gold colours are perfect for fall, and the petal-inspired print adds some whimsy to a sophisticated look.’

How will you work these pieces into your wardrobe?
‘Temperley pieces are vibrant and can easily stand on their own. So I like to work them into my everyday wardrobe by adding neutral layers; a solid sweater with one of the label’s skirts or a [classic] coat with one of their dresses.’

Your favourite thing to do in San Francisco?
‘I love San Francisco for its music scene, from the local piano bars and karaoke nights to the big name concerts.’
