CITY STORIES / Hong Kong
This city is best described as ‘a little bit of everything.’ That goes for its food, its culture and its style. Here, three local women give us an insider’s perspective on Hong Kong, and what its residents are wearing now. Photography by Alex Cheung.
Tasha Lam, content creator
‘I’ve lived in Hong Kong for over 20 years. I think the country parks are the best thing about living here. Over 40% of the land is protected, that’s the highest proportion in the world. You can go hiking, watch the rarest pink dolphins and take pictures of the most amazing views. I’d say my style is quite simple and minimal – everyday wardrobe staples really speak to me.’ In shot: Tasha wears boots by Fendi, and bag by Gucci.

Chloe Mak, fashion stylist
‘Right now my favourite neighbourhood is Sham Shui Po. There are quite a few designer and vintage shops, where I get a lot of my inspiration from. Plus, it has some new cafes, where I have my hand-drip coffee. I love the traditional elements of Hong Kong, like the trams, temples and old-fashioned restaurants. I think my own personal style is quite representative of the city – it has an edge to it. Plus, I’m a huge fan of bold colours like orange.’ In shot: Chloe wears top by Raf Simons, and earrings by Y/Project.
Suki Wong, DJ
‘I live on the Kowloon side, the peninsula across Victoria Harbour, so there’s always lots going on. And being a DJ, that suits me, I have a real work-hard, play-hard mentality. I think that’s representative in my style, too: it’s edgy, but still comfortable. For me, the best thing about living in the city is the beautiful harbour. But my favourite spot has to be Lion Rock – it has the best views of the city.’ In shot: Suki wears top by Versace.
