CITY STORIES / Hong Kong
This city is best described as ‘a little bit of everything.’ That goes for its food, its culture and its style. Here, three insiders give us their perspective on Hong Kong, and what its residents are wearing now.
Billy Chan, stylist
‘l live on Hong Kong Island – this shot was taken near Tsim Sha Tsui. I love the vintage feel of the buildings. The style in Hong Kong is versatile and always changing. I’ve been working in fashion since I was a teenager. I guess my style is pretty simple, overall.’ In shot: Billy wears shirt by Prada, T-shirt (worn underneath) and bag, both by 1017 Alyx 9SM; jeans by Helmut Lang, sneakers by Maison Margiela, and sunglasses by Stella McCartney.

Will Yu, stylist
‘This is my favourite place: Pak Tsz Lane Park, a hidden spot in the centre. You can escape to relax here, there are different sculptures, bronzes and street art. Hong Kong doesn’t have one specific style: it’s a mix of all the new things from other countries. It’s like a big bowl, full of different cultures.’ In shot: Will wears hoodie by John Elliott, and visor by Prada.

Charles Lam, C1 Production’s creative director
‘I live in the Tai Hang neighbourhood – I’ve always lived in Hong Kong. The best thing about the city is the intensity: everyone and everything is moving at turbo speed. But whenever I travel, it’s the food of Hong Kong that I miss the most. I would say that we dress to balance the stress of living here: the style is cosmopolitan but pretty laid back.’ In shot: Charles wears jacket by Strateas Carlucci, shirt by Jil Sander and trousers by Neil Barrett.
