Adidas and Pharrell Williams have dropped a colour bomb on the new Hu Holi pack, inspired by the ancient spiritual Holi Festival of Northern India where Hindu revellers playfully pelt each other with colourful hues of powdered dyes. Apparently, this is to welcome in the good spirits of spring and scare the hell out of the evil ones. Does it work? Well if Pharrell’s NMD Hu Holi sneakers are anything to go by, the answer is a definitive yes!
The kicks directly reference the festival by using powder dyes to create a suffused gradient colour pattern. This drop consists of 3 colour variations: one with a black upper and colour print on the inside, and two others with the dye displayed on the upper.
The pattern itself combines this season’s hottest colour - pink - with a variety of purple hues and flashes of green and orange pigments, giving you plenty of room to coordinate with your outfit, or alternatively, just clash them with your favourite streetwear.
