As an entrepreneur and investor, as well as a humanitarian and activist, Carmen Busquets is never in one place for too long. ‘I have always lived a peripatetic life,’ she says. ‘But it became even more nomadic after I left my country, Venezuela.’ It seems experiencing so many different countries and cultures means her style constantly changes. ‘I dress for my 16 personalities. I don't really have one style but I do like all natural materials.’ And this focus on sustainability is a predominant deciding factor when it comes to her fashion purchases. ‘I approach fashion consciously by not buying anything polyester, not buying “It” bags, not buying what is "new", not buying materials such as modal, viscose and others that come from the pulp of trees, and most of the things I wear are handcrafted.’ Below, Carmen offers her take on the best conscious pieces of the season.
