Founded in New York by Andy Warhol in 1969, Interview Magazine has since built a legacy of iconic covers, intimate conversations with notable artists and a historical prominence in the queer community.
To celebrate Pride, Interview are collaborating with iconic artist Tabboo! – known for his rise during the 1980s golden age of New York City gay culture – to bring you a limited-edition capsule of three T-shirts, each with a different graphic print inspired by legendary queer iconography from the magazine’s pages.
This piece features Andy Warhol-inspired red lips below a logo of the artist’s name rendered in Tabboo!’s signature swirling lettering – a recurring motif featured in all three editions. A final stamp across the rear neck reveals a custom Interview Magazine logo alongside ’1969’, the magazine’s founding year.
On behalf of this project, Interview Magazine is making a donation to Tabboo!’s chosen charity, Hetrick-Martin Institute. The organisation is the USA’s oldest and largest non-profit leader in LGBTQIA+ youth service programming.
This release is available exclusively to FARFETCH BEAT – our new curated programme introducing limited edition releases in collaboration with the most progressive voices in fashion and culture today.
