The Hot List: February
Words by Hollie Moat
Like an oasis in the desert of winter, Rio Carnival is a riot of colour and music and joie de vivre – the parades alone provide endless wow factor. So channel that dancing spirit and shake off any lingering January blues. The party starts 24th February.
What to wear: Fabulous as the costumes are, you’ll be better off in something a tad more wearable – but do embrace the rainbow hues and fun accessories.
Look, we’re not saying your underwear is about to come under scrutiny, but with Valentine’s Day upon us you could do worse than invest in some new briefs. We recommend you take a look at Versace’s extensive, luxurious selection.
What to wear: It’s entirely up to you, of course – a man’s pants are his own business, but we strongly advise against Y-fronts unless you have the body of an Adonis.
David Hockney at Tate Britain
This promises to be a classic. One of the most extensive retrospectives of modern-art icon Hockney, the exhibit spans all 6 decades of his career, showcases some of his most famous works, and travels to both Paris and New York after its London run ends.
What to wear: Pay homage to Hockney’s vivid use of colour and lack of fanfare by mixing sensible separates with the odd burst of brightness. And his iconic glasses, of course.
