    Founder of Spinnaker, Lorenza Betti, opened the first boutique in the seventies in the coastal town of Alassio, Italy. Today Spinnaker represents one of the most fashionable names in Italian luxury retailing, with 14 stores between Portofino, Alassio and San Remo, all prefaced by the Ligurian sea. Betti says that his boutiques are 'like a stage where luxury fashion is the guest of honour', and where the store's façade, the customer and the buying choices all influence and reflect each other.

    Originally launched by New York-based designer Sean Monahan, Sea New York was designed for his close female friends based on the idea of creating clothes that made girls smile. Since its launch in autumn 2006, the line has developed a following among hip New York girls, celebrities including Alexa Chung, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chloe Sevigny, and fashionistas this side of the pond who are looking for something not to be found on every UK high street.
