    Founder of Spinnaker, Lorenza Betti, opened the first boutique in the seventies in the coastal town of Alassio, Italy. Today Spinnaker represents one of the most fashionable names in Italian luxury retailing, with 14 stores between Portofino, Alassio and San Remo, all prefaced by the Ligurian sea. Betti says that his boutiques are 'like a stage where luxury fashion is the guest of honour', and where the store's façade, the customer and the buying choices all influence and reflect each other.

    Inspired by his father the shoemaker, Rene Caovilla followed in his footsteps. From the 1970s onwards, his unmatched Italian craftsmanship earnt him partnerships with many couturiers including Valentino, Christian Dior and Chanel. Rene Caovilla now has boutiques in every cosmopolitan city including, London, Paris, Dubai and Milan.
