The Grethen House customer is seeking alternatives to the impersonal service and ubiquitous merchandise of department stores, and appreciates the conscientious service and extra attention a small, family-owned boutique provides. Grethen House was established in Clear Lake, Iowa in 1953 by Greta and Henry Thomas—the name Grethen is a combination of their first names. Daughter Mary took over the store in 1989, and currently works with her son, Tadd, and his wife, Maggie.

    It was 1993 when Jas Sehmbi established his accessories label, then called IBW and created the first ever DJ bag. Since 2000 he has moved from working with nylon and canvas to fine Italian leather and the result is his new line Jas M.B. - a gorgeous collection of bags that mix functionality with cool, urban design.
