Millinery label Bernstock Speirs was established in 1982 by Paul Bernstock and Thelma Speirs , who met whilst studying Fashion:Textiles at Middlesex University. The ‘80’s underground music scene was the original inspiration for the label, whose creations challenged the perception of traditional millinery techniques and put a fashion forward slant on hat design. They currently have a store on East London’s fashionable Brick Lane which opened in 2004, bringing their eccentric style to an experimental crowd as well as a host of celebrity clients.
