André Courrèges was born in 1923 in Pau, France, he is known best for his striking modernist designs. He started designing at Geanne Lafaurie although later that year he was head hunted by Balenciaga. In 1961 Courrèges opened his own shop Maison de Couture with his Space Age little white dress and a trouser suit. The sixties were perfect for Andre creating his Space Age collection in 1964, his designs are very architecturally with geometric shapes like squares, trapezoids & triangles introduced into clothing, footwear and glasses or goggles.
