Gianfranco Ferré was an Italian fashion designer also known as "the architect of fashion", who began designing in the 1970s. His garments are usually graphically created in strong shapes and bright colours. Highly sensitive to form and outline, Ferré shows collections that bear the hallmarks of one whose early training was in the careful study of detail, in analysis and in planning. His intellectual approach to design, produces powerful and controlled clothes which are often folded and layered to create his precise statements.

Vintage’s owners have been collecting vintage pieces and one-offs since the store’s humble beginnings as a second-hand market, some of which are now used in films, theatre and television across Italy. The philosophy behind this now grand, three-storey Lugo-based boutique is imbued with sentimentality, with a belief that the value of the pieces lies far deeper than in their appearance. The store near Bologna has become a Mecca for fashion designers seeking to take inspiration from its comprehensive archive collection.

Description

Dark blue cotton two-piece skirt suit from Gianfranco Ferrè Vintage featuring a jacket with rounded shoulders and a boxy shape, a round neck, a front button fastening and two front flap pockets. The fabric has a ribbed pattern and smooth black trims. The skirt has a straight shape and a knee length.

Please note that vintage items are not new but often between 20 and 50 years old, and therefore will always have minor imperfections, even when the items have been used and worn with love and care.
