Borbonese was founded in Turin, Italy in 1910. Known for quality and craftsmanship the brand opened its first stand-alone store in Milan in 2002. Over the years Borbonese has collaborated with various artists and designers most notably Helmut Newton, Giampaolo Barbieri and Satoshi Saikusa. In 2010, to celebrate the centenary of the label, Borbonese collaborated with the foundation of Roy Lichtenstein to create a project for the exhibition at the Triennale in Milan. The result was the birth of a limited edition collection named "Art Bag" which featured twelve bags that feature the work of Lichtenstein.
