The name Balenciaga needs little introduction. Founded by pioneering Spanish couturier Cristóbal Balenciaga, the house represents a fashion legend. But it is designer Nicolas Ghesquière who has made the modern brand one of the most coveted labels there is. In his nine years as Creative Director, Ghesquière has created iconic collections season after season that often pay tribute to Cristobal’s ground-breaking archive and employ some of his couture techniques, but that also bring those designs headlong into the Twenty-first Century, and beyond!

Founder of Spinnaker, Lorenza Betti, opened the first boutique in the seventies in the coastal town of Alassio, Italy. Today Spinnaker represents one of the most fashionable names in Italian luxury retailing, with 14 stores between Portofino, Alassio and San Remo, all prefaced by the Ligurian sea. Betti says that his boutiques are 'like a stage where luxury fashion is the guest of honour', and where the store's façade, the customer and the buying choices all influence and reflect each other.
