    Spinnaker 101
Founder of Spinnaker, Lorenza Betti, opened the first boutique in the seventies in the coastal town of Alassio, Italy. Today Spinnaker represents one of the most fashionable names in Italian luxury retailing, with 14 stores between Portofino, Alassio and San Remo, all prefaced by the Ligurian sea. Betti says that his boutiques are 'like a stage where luxury fashion is the guest of honour', and where the store's façade, the customer and the buying choices all influence and reflect each other.

    Designer: DR. MARTENS

During the ‘60s, when teenage rebellion ran rampant, one boot emerged an icon. It was then German-based scientist Dr. Klaus Maertens created a shoe sole made mostly of air and through chance meeting was able to bring his invention to England. Here, he partnered up with the Griggs family to manufacture boots that became popular with both factory workers and London’s youth in revolt. Today, boots from Dr. Martens remain an iconic symbol of anticonformity and anti-fashion fashion.
