A graduate of the influential Antwerp Academy of Fine Arts, Belgian designer Sofie D’Hoore was originally trained as a dentist. But D’Hoore’s long-lasting interest in fashion lead her to make a career break. After working in Italy for a period, she moved back to Brussels and set up her first label, Fashion Ink with partner, Chantal Spaas. In 1992 she decided to go it alone. D’Hoore has a purist aesthetic, with emphasis placed on line, strict cutting and volume. Her modern designs are understated, flattering and created for a woman who values style over trend-lead fashion.
