“I like to give my creations names. All the names have a sense of humour, which is quite quintessential to my label,” explains Henry Beguelin, creator of Henry Cuir. Each product is manufactured using a special stitching technique called Saddle-stitching, a process normally used for making harnesses, in which each product is stitched using one needle after the other interchangeably. Another vital, yet playful, element of the goods is the colourful hand-stitched embroidery found on many pieces. The result is strongly-made leather goods that display the warm characteristics of hand-made items.
