Paris-based Japanese designer Tsumori Chisato studied fashion at the Bunka Fashion School in Tokyo, Japan. Chisato was the protégé of Issey Miyake, and in 1990 launched her eponymous line of womenswear. Elegant, chic and playful, Chisato’s innovative signature style prevails in whimsical appliqués, bold patterns and prints, custom prints, and embroidery. For spring 2011, she launched Cats, a playful sister line featuring T-shirts and knits featuring caricatures of her favorite animal.
