At the forefront of Japanese experimental fashion since it launched in the late 90s, Yukinori Maeda’s label Cosmic Wonder, is as much invested in art and performance as fashion. Ditching architecture in favour of fashion design, Maeda’s clothing designs for Cosmic Wonder are renowned for their avant-garde aesthetic, something that has given the label - which shows in Paris each season and often features installations and performances as part of the runway presentation - an international cult following.
