Blue linen coat from Yohji Yamamoto Vintage featuring a sculptural lapel with an integrated rain shield to the back, long loose sleeves, a buttoned closure along the front, a drawstring waist detail and two side pockets at the hips.     Designer: YOHJI YAMAMOTO VINTAGE

    One of the greats of Japanese fashion design, Yohji Yamamoto presented his first eponymous collection in Tokyo in 1977 before debuting at the Paris ready-to-wear shows in 1981. A menswear collection followed in 1984. The Yohji Yamamoto look is avant-garde and somehow removed from seasonal trends. He often employs oversized garments within his designs, with black usually the staple shade. Yohji’s understanding of fabric and how it drapes on the body give his collections a unique quality.
