    After more than 20 years of being an actor Alain Van Goethem decided it was time for a different career. Paying homage to his late mother who was nicknamed Imelda Marcos, Alain opened Galante shoe store which he runs with his partner Robbie Van Kerkhove. Passionate about shoes, Alain chose the city of Bruges for the location of the store, a medieval city which is a Unesco heritage site, visited by many tourists each year, thus attracting an international clientele.

    Founded in Florence in the 1970 by designer Roberto Cavalli, his eponymous label has since become an international fashion house famous for its flamboyancy and glamour. Cavalli has expanded from womenswear into menswear, childrenswear, shoes, accessories, eyewear and the home. No Cavalli collection is complete without animal prints, vibrant colour and pattern. The designer currently shows on the Milanese catwalks.
