    Knit Wit
Originally opened in 1969 (under the name Sweet Fanny Adams), Knit Wit offers a range of pieces from contemporary European and American designers. Designer: Paul Smith

Paul Smith’s modest beginnings in the world of fashion started with a menial job at a clothing warehouse in his native Nottingham when he was 16. His interest in fashion, art and style grew and by 1970 he had opened a shop selling his own designs among the collections and in 1976 he showed his first menswear collection in Paris. He has an empire of 12 sub-brands and designs everything from womenswear to tea-sets. Smith’s aesthetic blends a very British sense of humour with his love of traditional English clothing and his signature multi-coloured stripe is famous the world over.
